Our first event was a huge success and a great start for Creative East Lothian. We had over eighty visitors to The Garage throughout the two days and lots of sales for our exhibitors.
The shop was home to five local makers:
Jane Robertson of Monkeyteers – These cheeky monkeys, made from a pair of socks, make great travelling companions and mascots! They love to go on adventures and be seen in amazing places! A fabulous range was on display at The Pop-Up Craft Shop from Christmas angels to highlanders, check out Monkeyteers on Facebook to find out where Monkeyteers will be next.
Janice Strachan – Janice brought along lots of lovely delights to taste and smell, from chutneys to garlands. These were a huge hit with almost every visitor going home with one of her famous condiments. Janice is definitely one to watch!
Eve Smith of Silvermeadows jewellery – Eve Smith is an East Lothian Jeweller who has a studio at Cockenzie House & Gardens. Each of her stunning pieces is unique and created all by hand. Check out her Facebook page, Flickr feed and Etsy shop for some great images of her work and making process. Get in there fast, Eve has received lots of commissions already!
Rebecca Robertson of Creative Coastals – Rebecca’s lovely seaside creations are all made from materials that are locally sourced. As no bit of driftwood, stone or sea glass is the same, every piece is individual. Rebecca carefully selects each component along the coast between Cockenzie and Gullane. She then thoughtfully pieces these together to make all kind of shapes from boats to christmas trees. See more on her Facebook page or Website and get your christmas presents sorted.
Lucy Robertson – Lucy Robertson is a recent textile design graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee. She has now returned to East Lothian to continue designing, creating and to set up Creative East lothian. Lucy displayed a range of budgies and boats paintings, alongside her Designmetheworld greeting cards, postcards and laser-cut decorations. Check out her Facebook page and the buy page of her website.
